Our Story
Lekka Vibes Radio was created to not only celebrate South African music and culture but also to blend the best sounds from around the world. Our passion is connecting listeners through rhythm, language, and energy. We are more than a radio station — we’re a community that promotes talent, creativity, and positivity across every beat. We offer multiple music genres in multiple languages from multiple countries around the world.
In addition to music and entertainment, Lekka Vibes Radio was established as an informative platform to help listeners better understand everyday insurance matters. Partly sponsored by DAS Financial Consultants, the station features short interviews with insurance professionals, informative discussions, and podcasts that explore common insurance questions, real-life scenarios, and practical guidance — all presented in a clear and accessible way.
Community upliftment and giving back are core values of Lekka Vibes Radio. Founder Dominic Mongis was an active member of the Rotary International Foundation for many years and, while he has since stepped back due to time constraints, he remains actively involved with Rotary initiatives. This commitment extends to supporting broader humanitarian causes, including the fight against polio, cancer, and other serious diseases.
We believe that everyone has a role to play in giving back to their community, and Lekka Vibes Radio aims to be a platform that not only entertains, but also informs, uplifts, and contributes positively to society.

Our presenters are driven by passion — a passion for music, for uplifting others, and for creating meaningful connections through sound. They give their time and talent not for remuneration, but because they believe in what Lekka Vibes Radio represents. While we fully value and support fair compensation, the station continues to grow through the dedication, care, and commitment of a team that gives from the heart.
Dominic
Born in South Africa with family roots in France, DJ Domz brings an international flavour and a lifelong love of music to Lekka Vibes Radio. Having spent much of his school years in Belgium, he is completely fluent in French and has grown up surrounded by a mixture of cultures and musical influences.
Music has always played an important part in his life. Away from the radio studio, Domz is an intermediate guitarist and violinist , giving him an appreciation for music not only as a listener and presenter, but also from a musician's point of view. His enthusiasm extends to live music too, and he particularly enjoys getting out to support live bands and musicians at events.
Interestingly, a career behind the microphone wasn't originally part of the plan! It was his good friend and fellow presenter Mario — “The Rock Doctor” — who introduced him to the world of radio. After a couple of years of persuasion, Mario eventually convinced Domz to come on board and help him out “temporarily.” As it turns out, temporary didn't quite go according to plan — Domz discovered just how much he loved radio, and he has been hooked ever since!
His musical tastes are broad, and that variety is reflected in his approach to broadcasting. For Domz, radio is about far more than simply playing one song after another; it's about sharing great music, discovering forgotten favourites, supporting artists and creating a connection with the people listening.
When he's not surrounded by music, two of his favourite sports are baseball and volleyball.
Today, as DJ Domz, he brings that mixture of music, personality and enthusiasm to Lekka Vibes Radio — and what started as a favour for The Rock Doctor has become a genuine passion of his own.

Janet
Janet got into radio through her love and passionate affiliation to and for music.
Initially assisting and producing for Keith Burrows on Mix 93.8 FM & Eden Radio, she later moved into
presenting on The Sunday Seat at Eden Radio, Random Radio, and Bulldogs Dogs Radio. We were excited when Janet agreed to join our team.
Janet is currently 'off-air' and assisting with marketing and social media with the aim to grow the listenership on Lekka Vibes Radio.
Mario
Affectionately known on air as The Rock Doctor, Mario brings a wealth of radio experience, a great sense of humour and, of course, a lifelong passion for music to Lekka Vibes Radio.
Born in Argentina, Mario remains an avid supporter of Argentinian football, although his football loyalties also stretch across the Atlantic to Chelsea FC. Away from the microphone, he is a huge Ferrari enthusiast, loves motorcycles and has a passion for cooking — so whether the subject is music, football, cars, bikes or food, there is seldom a shortage of conversation when Mario is around!
Radio and music have been part of Mario's life for many years. His broadcasting journey has included time with LM Radio, Eden Radio, as well as radio stations in what was then known as Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe. That experience, together with his genuine love of music, gives him the relaxed and knowledgeable style he brings to the microphone today.
While the name The Rock Doctor gives away his particular love for rock music, don't assume that's all you'll hear when Mario is behind the controls. His musical tastes stretch well beyond rock — and every now and then, the Doctor may prescribe a healthy dose of the Blues too!

Yvette
Yvette says - As far back as I can recall, music has always been my go to place, my solace. I Always dreamt of being a radio DJ, so don’t let anybody tell you that dreams are just dreams. Yve’s Zone is all about taking people on an emotional ride with music as I have found that if you pour some music on whatever is going wrong, it will definitely help as music gets your mind off everything else.
Tune in to Yve’s Zone and enjoy an eclectic mix of something oldish, something newish and something you may not have heard too, as music has the power to make us smile and bring us to all types of tears, which carries us back in time and inspires us to dance in the moment.
